Initiated a Typeface and Font Design Since 1995
THE CHALLENGE
Personal signature typeface
Typefaces represent an idea, culture, time, and history. Throughout history, the typefaces converted into a stereotype in delivering messages. Some typeface features represent concepts, but as globalization occurs, stereotype designs do not significantly affect concepts.
THE SOLUTION
The key letterforms
I utilized the curvilinear lines of brush strokes when painting the letters. Elegance, loyalty, and nature are the key elements of the letterforms. I began designing ‘AC Young’ in 1995, and I continue to reach its perfection.
THE MINDSET
No more stereotype
I named the typeface based on my name ‘Albert Young Choi.’ I named it as ‘AC Young’ to emphasize its spirit: ‘Young.’
